CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG

Here's the first of many hair/beauty posts! I want to do at least one per month, so give me any suggestions you guys want to see. I'm always trying something new, whether it's a hairstyle, hair color, or product and I really want to share it all with you guys.

Speaking of trying new things, I recently cut my hair and got front bangs as you can see in the pictures above. The last time I went to the hair salon was in August and I got partial highlights and a trim. My hair grew about five inches since then and with the constant application of heat, it became super dry and dead. I was itching to do something different to it so I started doing some research and browsing the internet for ideas. I really wanted something that would emphasize my features and fit my face. I've had front bangs a few times before but they never look as good as I pictured they would in my head. This time, I had the stylist give me frayed bangs rather than straight across.

If you're looking for a new hairstyle but not sure what would look best, do some research on hairstyles for your face shape. It's all about putting the perfect frame around a person's face to balance and bring perspective to the overall shape. I've had long layers for the past few years so I wanted to do something that gave my hair a little more life and volume. I kept the length, but added a lot more layers (the shortest layer lands at the bottom of my chin). My hair feels totally different now, its lively and healthy as ever! It even became more shiny since I've cut it. I went to a salon called Europa in Ridgewood, Queens. They did an amazing job and the service and prices were great! If you live in NY, I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Front bangs are on trend right now and it's a great time to get them because they can be a real pain during warmer seasons. I'm not sure if I am going to keep up with my bangs or just let them grow out, it all depends on how I'm feeling when they start getting too long LOL. I've dyed my hair about 10-15 times within the past five years so I'm trying to stay away from dye for a while. Many people ask me if that has damaged my hair and honestly, I've never noticed dramatic damage except when I bleach my hair. I think as long as you take care of your hair it should be fine. Buy a good deep conditioner and apply it to your hair about once a week, try to avoid heat as much as possible, and don't wash it every day because that can cause your hair to become dried out.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and found it helpful. Remember to do some research before going to the salon, you'll be much more satisfied with the results. Here are some links you may find helpful:
