BLACK IS THE NEW BLACK.

Dress: Mandees || Shoes: Mandees || Accessories: F21

I swear if I could wear all black every single day, I would! It's one of those colors that will always be in style no matter the year or season. Some of the benefits of wearing black is that it's very slimming, and it goes good with ANYTHING! I'm learning to see the beauty in simplicity as I get older. I've always been the indecisive type, so I like to have a little bit of everything that way I don't feel like I am losing out on anything. However, it gets quite tiring, especially in fashion. I'm learning to see things with a different eye now, an eye that sees the perfection in keeping it simple. I think I finally understand the meaning behind CoCo Chanel's famous quote, "Simplicity is the keynote to all true elegance." You never wanna look like you're trying too hard!

I bought this beautiful black dress from Mandees a few months ago, along with these nude strapped heels. I couldn't wait to wear them together, and what better occasion than to Valentine's Day dinner while I was on my 9-Day cruise? This dress is my  favorite of all my dresses! I got it for $20 at Mandees and it can be worn 4 different ways. I can't think of a better deal, can you? I chose to wear it this way because it was the most elegant and fitting for the occasion. I will try to do a blog post showing all the possible ways to wear it, so look out for that! The nude shoes compliment the dress very well because they aren't too bold, so the focus remains on the dress. I don't usually experiment with my hair because it never comes out the way I want it to and I get frustrated but, it actually worked out well this time and it was quite simple to do. All I did was part it at the side, brush the smaller section over to the left side of my head and twisted the larger portion of hair to the back of my ear and tied it into a ponytail. Then, I split the ponytail into three different braids, then braided those three braids into one large braid, wrapped it around into a bun shape and pinned it down. I kept it really simple with accessories, small pearl earrings, two pearl bracelets and two gold rings. I hope this post teaches you that it's possible to look fab on a budget. I think we all have dreams of stepping out in Couture everyday, but realistically fashion is not about name brand it's about style
