TREND REPORT: NUDE NECESSITIES.

Nude Necessities

Hey guys! I hope your week is going well! I've been feeling super motivated and excited for this year, and I've decided to start a new blogging tradition for you guys. My biggest interests are styling and graphic design, (as some of you know by now) so I decided to combine the two and start creating outfit collages to give you some inspiration. Every week I will incorporate a different trend into a collage and post it on the blog. I thought this would be a great idea because it is a different way for me to inspire you guys with my style without me actually having to physically take any photos (don't worry I will still be keeping up with my regular outfit posts as well.) You can look for these posts every Thursday. I plan to do my favorite trends for the season, but I am definitely open to suggestions if there is anything you'd like to see!
Now onto the outfit. Nude is a timeless trend, it looks good during any season and it has a clean, chic appearance. In my opinion, adding any nude item to your outfit automatically elevates your look. Neutral colored coats are all the rage this season and I can definitely say that I am in love with them. I need to get one of my own ASAP.

Be careful when shopping for nude items though; everyone has a different skin color and not every shade of nude may compliment your skin very well. If your skin is more on the tan/dark side of the spectrum, you should probably stick to medium to lighter nudes. If your skin is more on the fair side, like mine, medium to dark nudes will compliment your skintone best. The key is to make sure the color doesn't look too much like your own skin, otherwise you might just look naked lol. You can go for a monochromatic look (like the one in the photo - with all nude items) or throw in some pops of color. That's the great thing about this color - it looks good with just about everything!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and found it helpful. Below are links to each item in the collage. Thanks for reading!

XOXO

POPS OF RED.

Hey Hey! Hope you're all making the best of the new year thus far. As cliche as it sounds, the new year is a perfect time to start fresh. I like to think of it as a blank slate, a chance to take what I've learned from the previous year and use it to my advantage for the upcoming year. I'm normally a very organized person and I like to map out my goals so I can visualize my success. My iPhone notes are filled with daily to-do lists, weekly-monthly-yearly goals, things to buy & save for, and much more.

Some of my goals for 2015 include posting more frequently on the blog, taking more risks with my style, developing a good relationship with a fashion brand, achieving a 4.0 GPA, and of course (the most common resolution) to get more in shape. I've been working out everyday and doing yoga so I'm pretty proud of myself lol. I am currently on my second week of T25, and I will share my progress with you guys as I continue on with the program!(: I go back to school in a week, part of me is excited and the other..well not so much. Honestly, I hate the constant back-and-forth traveling and lifestyle adjustments from being at home in the city to being Upstate at school (I'm sure my fellow college students can relate to this). But, hopefully this will be my last semester Upstate and I will be in the city for good and I can focus on taking my life to the next level.

Ok, enough blabbering. This look is definitely more of an everyday look for me - I swear I could wear black every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. I threw on my favorite black leggings, with a simple black crop top, my faux leather jacket, black beanie and black infinity scarf (which I got for only $9 at Old Navy!) These black platform booties are seriously my favorite shoes ever! I feel like whoever created this, did so with me in mind lmao. No but seriously, I've been obsessing over these babies for months from one of my favorite UK brands, but I'm very hesitant about ordering online, especially internationally. Luckily, I found an identical pair in H&M so I snatched them up in a heartbeat. I think I love this style of shoe so much because they resemble the shoes that my Bratz dolls used to wear haha. They're so retro and weird, they're perfect for me.

I kept it simple with my accessories, putting on my black and gold watch, a few midi rings and studded earrings. To add some flair to the outfit I added in a few pops of red with my briefcase shoulder bag and my red flannel. You have probably seen this flannel in my ON WEDNESDAYS WE WEAR [WHITE] post, in which I wore it the same way except with an all white outfit. I love wearing shirts tied around my waist because 1) it adds a rugged look to the outfit 2) it covers my butt from pervs when I'm wearing leggings 3) I can throw it on when I get a little chilly. So really it serves a few purposes besides just looking cool. Anyone who knows me knows that this is something they could catch me wearing on any given day. It's a comfy outfit so it's suitable for class or just hanging with friends, and you can also dress it up with heels for an edgy look for a night out.
